Week 4 saw KCC enjoy another 20-point Saturday as both teams defeated Malton & Old Malton CC; the first XI chasing 62 & the second XI chasing 173.
At Aspin Lane, Greg Pickles won the toss and chose to field first. Knaresborough took the field and restricted Malton & Old Malton CC first XI to 62 all out, thanks to 4-29 from Toby Giddings, 3-24 from Jordan Tear, 2-3 from Ollie Fryer and 1-4 from Andy Ward.
The total was then chased in 12.3 overs thanks to 18 (27) from Greg Pickles and 32* (42) from overseas Blake Weymouth. A 3:10pm finish was enjoyed by all!
At Malton & Old Malton CC, Knaresboroughâs second XI captain Joe Reynolds also won the toss and elected to field. The wickets were shared amongst Knaresborough bowlers, as 2-23 from Charlie Sutcliffe, 3-40 from Joe Preece, 2-24 from Tom Wilson & 2-8 from Bernie Keavy restricted the opposition to 173 all out from their 45 overs.
With 174 the target, captain Joe Reynolds and Callum Beasley walked out to the crease and started the innings well, being dismissed for 26 and 34 respectively. Graham Dodds came in at number 3 and hit 26 from 33 balls before a Joe Preece onslaught of 72* from 56 balls won the game for Knaresborough.
