Under 15s Bob Mellor Final

The previously unbeaten U15s played in the cup final last night, we lost to Harrogate but that really doesn’t tell the story.
With 6 players unavailable we fielded 5 U12s in the U15 cup final.
Harrogate had a very strong team including many representative players, they batted first and scored 174 in their 22 overs. It would have been more but for great committed fielding and strong bowling from U12 Jake Stalker who took 3 wickets supported by good bowling from Daniel Weatherill and captain for the night Jacob Procter.

Chasing over 8 in over in wet conditions Knaresborough started well and Ben ward retired on 50 not out having been supported by his brother (25) the stage was set for the big hitters and Sam Baines delivered with 36 including three sixes in a row. Harrogate were shaken but we came up a few short.

A great match, our team were a credit to themselves and the club. The match was played in great spirit and Harrogate played their part in that.
