The Under 17s won the Arthur Barrett cup for the sixth consecutive year last night on our home ground. They are the second junior team to win a trophy in this bicenntenial season after the U13s triumph in the John Barrett Cup. Put into bat by Studley Knaresborough got off to a good start racing to 59 from 8 overs before Jack Witham was out for 19. Eddie Barnes, playing in his sixth final was next out for 71 from 41 balls. 25 from captain Ben Cutts and 16 from James Webster helped the team to total of 151-7. In reply Studley kept pace with the run rate for most of their innings with Bailey McCourt top scoring with 43. However they lost wickets at vital times and eventually finished on 130-8. Eddie Barnes was named man of the match and received the Ed Cousins trophy.
