U13s v Pannal match report

On a glorious evening for cricket the unbeaten Knaresborough Under 13 A Team looked to continue their run against Pannal away. The venue for the match was switched to their idyllic ground at Huby.

The wicket was unprepared and created very uneven bounce but Pannal batted first and took the game to Knaresborough with some fine batting displays to reach a total of 103 from their 20 overs. Our bowlers worked hard with fine bowling from Dan Howard, Dan Balbi and Willem Everstead. Sam Balgue bowled at the end and is starting to produce some fast accurate left arm bowling.

Our innings started badly with Dom being bowled in the first over. Nat batted stylishly and retired but wickets were falling to their bowling of good line and length. Then, just as the game looked to be heading towards a Pannal victory, in to bat came Jack Brennan. Jack produced an innings of maturity and style alongside Dan Howard to bring Knaresborough to victory in a thrilling encounter.

Well done to all the team for a battling performance on an evening when we were not quite at our best in the field with a stunning catch by Joe Reynolds the highlight.
