Under 17s reach Cup semi final

The U17s reached the semi final of the Arthur Barrett cup in the pursuit of a 4th consecutive trophy with a 7 wicket win at Sessay. Sessay batted first and soon the captain’s curse hit Knaresborough again. After losing Sam Davies last week with a broken thumb, Eddie Barnes had to leave the field after trying a take a return catch with his face. However, he returned later to take 5-15 despite having one eye closed. Sessay finished on 104-8.
George Davies and Ben Cutts put on 56 for the first wicket before Ben was bowled for 17. George was in destructive mood again. Using borrowed kit having just returned from the beach he hit 74 no from 26 balls with only 3 dot balls, taking a particular liking to Sessay’s academy spinner.
